I think I’ve mentioned maaaaybe once or twice (or fifteen times!) how much I just adore sunrise for photo sessions. It is so peaceful and quiet, and cool! When you are 30+ weeks pregnant, cool is the key word here! Clients often think they can’t get up that early, or their kids will never do it, or they won’t look amazing that early in the morning, but I am telling you I have never ONCE had someone tell me they regret choosing sunrise! This particular location really shines at sunrise. The light behind the little waterfall just slays me every time – I cannot get enough of it!! Stay tuned for a peek at this stunning Mama’s little guy (yes, I am so far behind on blogging that baby is already here!)
Seal Beach Maternity Photos
Last week I packed up the kiddos and headed west to the beach and Grandma’s house for some cool ocean air and summer break shenanigans (read:Disneyland, duh!). While we were there, I got to meet up with these sweet parents – to – be, who also happen to be some of my very favorite wedding clients from the past, for a sunset maternity session on the beach! (If you haven’t seen their amazing Disneyland fireworks finale shot, go check that out here!!) I ordered up a gorgeous sunset with no icky marine layer just for them, and while I got what I wanted we also got gale force winds. Proof you really cannot have your cake and eat it too. I also maaaaay have stepped backwards right into a hole that had been dug in the sand… and fell. Hard. It was probably quite the sight, me hitting the ground, holding my camera straight overhead so it didn’t. PSA people, fill in your holes when you leave the beach!
I love that I can keep in touch with my awesome Orange County clients who I’ve worked with for so many years, and on vacation to boot. I’ll be back for a little more summer fun, Fall break, and then Christmas! My Orange County Fall minis have just a couple of spots open, and they are both at this same gorgeous location – the Seal Beach pier. If you can’t snag one, or want a longer session all to yourself, I do have limited dates open this Fall in August, October, and after Christmas in December.
Sunrise Maternity Session in Chandler
Sunrise ❤ Sessions. I know, I know, I’ve said it a hundred times, but seriously I have never had a client tell me they regretted getting up early for some ah-mazing family photos at sunrise! Throw in a beautiful baby bump, a flower crown, and one of the most photogenic 3 year olds I have ever met, and you’ve got magic.. MAGIC! This stunning Mama was ready to deliver any day when we met up at Veteran’s Oasis Park in Chandler for her maternity – slash – last family session as a family of 3! I think it is super sweet when moms incorporate the entire family into their maternity session. To see the love that little siblings already have for the new baby is just adorable.
If you’ve got a little on on the way, let’s chat about getting you on the schedule sooner than later! Maternity sessions are usually best scheduled around 28-32 weeks, before you get super uncomfortable, and while you still feel like getting all dressed up! Wait too late and any pose can feel like acrobatic torture, too early and your baby bump might look a little more like a fun night at Taco Tuesday! But if taking photos wasn’t high on the to-do list until the last minute, don’t worry! We will work together to craft a session that makes you feel as beautiful as you look, while keeping you as comfortable as possible, and looking stunning. Need some suggestions on what to wear? I’ve got an arsenal of hints and tips, as well as some local options for renting or buying a gorgeous long flowing maternity dress just for your session.
Gilbert | Chandler Newborn Photos
This sweet mom was a little frazzled when we met. Her little one was already 14 days old, and her first round of newborn photos didn’t really turn out as she’d envisioned. She was crossing her fingers for a do-over that was amazing before her little one was too old. No pressure! A friend and client put me in touch with her through Facebook and I am so glad she did. I hate the thought of anyone not having beautiful, precious shots that they are in love with of their tiny bundle, because they just grow so stinking fast! I was so relieved when things went perfectly, despite the sun playing peekaboo, and I was able to get some beautiful shots of her tiny features, adorable faces and big beautiful eyes, as well as some of their first days as a family.
I absolutely love when I am invited into a brand new little family’s home to capture those sweet first days when they are just getting to know their little one. It is a stressful, chaotic and absolutely amazing time, and I know just how important these images are to you because I am a mom to 3 myself. Newborn photos are best done between birth and about 10-12 days old if at all possible, so be sure to get choose your photographer and get penciled in on their schedule well before your due date so you can cross that off your list of things to do when baby comes. My newborn sessions are all done right in your own home, and I do everything I can to make things as easy and stress-free as possible for you. Ready to get your little bundle on my schedule? Send me a few details and I’ll be right in touch!
