Just a couple of days before the 4th of July, I got a call from Andrea in search of a last-minute family portrait session over the holiday weekend. As we chatted, and she explained that this was a surprise gift for her best friend, (who was expecting TWINS very soon!) I just knew this was going to be a fun afternoon. Andrea is so sweet in gifting this portrait session to her friend, and encouraging her to get some family photos taken despite her hesitation to be in front of the camera. And really, Rena is gorgeous, and she makes carrying twins look like a piece of cake!
We met at Cedar Grove Park in Tustin for their extended family, friends and maternity session all rolled into one. Rena’s girls are just adorable and gave me some beautiful natural smiles, and Andrea’s son… oh my! Cutest. Thing. Ever! His soft, spiky baby hair stood straight up and caught some of the absolutely beautiful evening light we were graced with. His smile is just too darned cute, and he had me giggling away at all of the different faces he makes.
Cedar Grove is such a beautiful park, the huge old cedar trees are historic and there is a plaque where you can read about why they were planted and how the city works very hard to protect them. There is a great little path with a wooden fence that winds through the trees, and we saw a few bunnies hoping around in the brush. The light filtered through the big trees was just magical, and combined with two very photogenic families it made for a picture perfect session. Everyone was relaxed and having a good time, which made it all the more perfect.
Thank you for the fun afternoon of laughs and smiles at your Orange County family portrait session! Andrea, you are an amazing friend to do this, and Rena congratulations on your family of 4 becoming 6!
