One of the things I do love most about Southern California is that we can play outdoors all. year. long. While we see (and sometimes dream of) the white-out conditions some of our neighbors to the East are facing, here it is 70 degrees warm in January, flip-flops and shorts weather. And that also means family sessions at the beach in the middle of winter are a fun time, and not brutal torture. This weekend I met up with a fellow photographer who needed some updated family portraits now that her little one had arrived. While some of us had more fun than others, it was a blast. This was not a sit-and-stare-with-a-smile type of session, no forced smiles and bribes here! Instead, Mom wanted to capture what their life is like, for real. This is my favorite type of session, when clients just do their thing and let me capture the real moments as they happen. It tells a great story about their personalities, and how much they love each other.
Somebody loved the beach SO MUCH he just did not want to leave. Good thing he is super cute even when he’s falling apart!Asea Tremp
