My weekend dates are usually totally booked weeks, or sometimes months in advance, depending on the time of year. So when Vanessa contacted me a couple of weeks ago about shooting her backyard wedding in Mesa, I was super happy to be able to tell her that I could absolutely squeeze her in! While a lot of brides plan for months, YEARS even, backyard weddings often run on a totally different timeline. Often that means having to sacrifice some things when time is tight, but photography should not be one of them! If you are thinking of having a small wedding or elopement on a short timeline, scheduling your wedding for off-peak hours will help ensure you can snag someone amazing without too much notice. Whether your plan is the courthouse, or your own house, having some special photos to remind you of this huge day in your life is still important! Of course, sunset on a weekend is going to be tough, but late morning, mid-day, or even during the week, gives you a much better chance of finding a fabulous photographer who can fit your special day into their busy schedule. If you are planning your own small wedding on the fly, be sure getting your date on my calendar is one of your very first calls!
