Riparian Preserve in Gilbert is a HOT place for a family photo session in the summer. And by that I do mean literally hot, like 90+ degrees at 6am! As bad as that sounds though, its still better than sunset! Luckily this big happy extended family saw value in the cool(er) sunrise time and dragged everyone out of bed early to make it work. I am always amazed at how joyful and energized people are for sunrise sessions. SO much laughter and mayhem, my kind of session. The only downside? I checked the mirror when I got back to the car and I realized why they were laughing. Holy humidity Charlie Brown!
Riparian Preserve can be a tricky, tricky spot to take photos during busier seasons. So many people all trying to squeeze their way in for a shot with the obligatory Saguaros. Fall family photos, prom groups, grad photos, even entire wedding parties, it is a popular spot. While I do enjoy the scenery and there are tons of great little nooks and crannies, this is one location I strongly recommend avoiding from September through December and April through May!
