Extended family sessions can be tricky. Sometimes it can be very hard to get everyone on the same page with coordinating colors that compliment each other, and clothing styles that mesh to create a very put-together look. Not this family! I love their style and the way that they pulled two really pretty colors together throughout the looks to create a cohesive, yet distinctly different look for each family within the group. And the yellows, oh how I love a good pop of yellow! It helps that they are all incredibly beautiful and easy going people, and I was so happy to see that they were relaxed and enjoying each others company, which really shines through in the camera. Letting yourself enjoy the moment and not fret about being shy in front of the camera can really make the difference between good family pictures and amazing ones!
I love that Alana planned this Irvine Regional Park family session as a gift to celebrate her Mother and Father-in-law’s 20th wedding anniversary, what a special gift! And since there is also another little family member on the way to celebrate, we had to sneak in a few maternity shots. I mean, amazing lighting, gorgeous people, perfect location, why not! I think the shot of Dad reading to his little one is so incredibly sweet, it is so fun to see the little personal touches my clients bring to their sessions.
Here are just a few of my favorites from the day, it was so hard to choose!
