Did you know, just a few miles East of the Phoenix metro area there is an incredible oasis in the desert, complete with a magical greenhouse, a suspension bridge leading into a mountainside, a lake, and the most lush and beautiful scenery around? It’s a real thing! When I exited the 60 past Globe, I wasn’t sure just what I was in store for. As the unsuspecting highway turn off leads around a bend and to the entrance to Boyce Thompson Arboretum, it all comes into view, and what a view! We spent 2 hours exploring the grounds and I don’t think we covered 1/4 of it. The arboretum is best in the early mornings in late Spring and early Summer when they open as early as 6am, and at sunset during late Fall when the trees turn to Fall colors and put on quite the show. There is a bit of walking, but it is completely stroller friendly. I can’t wait to get some perfectly coordinated families out here in the Fall and see the leaves change!
